How to remove wrinkles out of leather garments: 5 amazing ways.
We should always leave leather garments hanging when they are not in use but sometimes we all make this mistake and store our expensive leather clothing folded which would lead to forming wrinkles. Be it a leather jacket, leather pants, leather shirt, or leather blazer wrinkles can be formed on any type of leather garment if not stored properly. Sometimes when we get our leather item delivered by courier after a long journey say a few weeks then also it can develop minor wrinkles, especially if not packed appropriately.
But don’t worry you don’t have to wear your beloved leather jacket with all those ugly wrinkles as we are going to discuss some really effective ways to remove wrinkles from any type of leather clothing. We will start from the difficult to all the way to the easiest one. So let’s get started.

1.| Use iron
You can use iron on leather to remove wrinkles and it is the most commonly used method to remove wrinkles from leather clothes is a good old iron but in the case of leather, iron should be used in a bit different way as discussed further.
You must be extremely careful while using iron on leather as iron should not come in direct contact with leather. Place the leather garment section with wrinkles flat on the iron table, now you can use a cotton cloth and put it on the leather section you want to iron. Now put the iron on low heat and work it on the section making sure that the iron doesn’t rest stationary on it, it should keep moving.
Dry iron is preferred or you can use normal iron by emptying all the water to prevent spills on the leather.
2.| Use steam to remove wrinkles from leather.
You can use steam to remove wrinkles from leather garments. You just have to hang them inside your shower area where they don’t get wet by water, now turn on the shower and let the hot water run or you can do it while you are taking a hot water shower to save water. Let the stream fill the bathroom space with a closed door. This steam will come in contact with the leather and gently loosen up the wrinkles, you can later use your hands to even out the leather surface.
3.| Stuffing method to remove wrinkles from leather.
It is one of my favorite methods that I use most often. For instance, if you have to remove the wrinkles from a leather shirt then what you should do is first fully button up the shirt then start filling it up with clothes like towels, t-shirts, etc. and when it is full just leave it there for a few hours and then tada! You have got a wrinkle-free leather shirt.
The section of the garment with the most wrinkles should be filled even tighter. You can also employ a soft pillow as a filling. This method can work on almost all kinds of leather clothing.
4.| Put it under mattresses overnight.
This is also one of my favorite methods to unwrinkle leather garments and it is also absolutely free, you just have to put your lazy mattresses on work. Some of you may have guessed till now what am I going to suggest. Right! You just have to put your leather garment under your mattresses for a few hours.
You can also use a flatboard to put a place under leather apparel if you are not using a solid flat bed. Now leave it there for like couple of hours and it can remove those stubborn creases.
Note- Using this method on clothing such as leather blazers and leather jacket with spikes is not recommended as it can damage their shape but for other garments like leather pants, leather shirts, and plain leather jackets you can use this one.
5.| Use weight to remove wrinkles.
One more absolutely free method is using weight to get those wrinkles out.
Just place the affected leather section on the table and put heavy objects on it. These objects should have flat bases like heavy books, or paper reams or you can use a box filled with heavy things. Just place it on the wrinkled section and leave it for like 5 to 6 hours. You will get a wrinkle-free leather garment.
Conclusion
Methods 3, 4, and 5 are absolutely free (I’m saying free cause it doesn’t require any resources like electricity and water:) but they can only be used in small wrinkles if deep creases are there then you should consider methods 1 and 2 after it.
